Latest News on Slate Trail Project.

We have been asked to photograph the following locations on the Slate Trail, so if any of you are unable to join Tony's Wednesday excursions, then maybe you might like to visit some of the sites independently and take as many high res images as possible. They are looking for general scenery or anything of doesn't have to be of the actual quarries.

So if you are able to get some good pictures in the next couple of months that would be great. Once you have taken pictures, please could you send them to me large as possible. Also if you have any images taken in the past those would be welcome too.

The places of interest are

Rhyd Ddu,
Cwm Cynfal,
Cwt y Bugail.

Projects / Challenges for 2017 - 2018

Slate Trail

We have agreed to make the Slate Trail one of our projects for the season.

Tony Jones will be organising various trips around the route and will be contacting members with details. This should be a very interesting and enjoyable project and we hope that as many members as possible will participate.

It is a community led project aimed at bringing business to the slate villages by producing a book.
They need views, features, anything of interest.

The sections of interest are Porth Penrhyn - Llanllechid - Bethesda - Llanberis - Waunfawr - Nantlle - Rhyd Ddu - Beddgelert - Croesor - Tanygrisiau - Blaenau Ffestiniog - Llan Ffestiniog - Cwm Penmachno - Penmachno - Betws - Capel - Bethesda.

The organisers need a selection of photos for the inside, uncropped, to allow the designer some leeway. They should all to be of a high resolution. 3 meg is the absolute minimum for inside the book, with much greater for some of the larger inner photos.

They want to publish in the spring, so it is imperative to get decent high resolution photos while the weather is good in the next few months.
